Big Island of Hawaii, October 2009

We took a week-long trip to the Big Island of Hawaii, specifically to shore dive.

We arrived late on Friday, October 23rd. First item of business on Saturday was to arrange for scuba tank rental at Jacks Diving Locker.

We did not take our cameras for the first few dives, to get a sense of the dive conditions. We were both wearing thicker wetsuits than we are accustomed to, so we had to adjust our weighting to account for additional buoyancy.
Our first dive was on Saturday at Mile Marker 4, just south of Kailua-Kona.
On Sunday we did two dives off of the beach at the old airport, without our cameras.
Monday Airey had work to do in the morning, and in the afternoon we dove at Pahoehoe.
